West Virginia shortstop JJ Wetherholt is officially not in WVU’s starting lineup on Friday afternoon ahead of WVU’s game against Charlotte.
The Mountaineers and 49ers open a four-game series, and it’s expected WVU will be without their star shortstop as he recovers from a hamstring pull.
In his place at shortstop, Brodie Kresser gets the start and will hit leadoff for the Mountaineers. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. on Friday and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
