West Virginia star shortstop JJ Wetherholt left WVU’s game four against Stetson and is being evaluated for an injury.
West Virginia Baseball said on social media, “JJ Wetherholt has exited the game and is being evaluated for an injury.”
Wetherholt is considered one of the top prospects in all of college baseball, and he had started all four of WVU’s games, including both games of today’s doubleheader. Wetherholt walked and scored in his lone plate appearance in game two of the doubleheader.
West Virginia won the opening game of the four-game series, but lost both games two and three. Wetherholt exited in the first inning when the Mountaineers were in front, 2-0.
