Another week has gone by and the Big 12 continues to make its case as the best conference in college basketball.
In the latest AP Poll, the Big 12 dropped down to having six teams in it: Kansas at fourth, Houston at fifth, Baylor at 13th, Iowa State at 14th, BYU at 21st, and Texas Tech at 23rd. The Big 12 also has TCU, Texas, and Oklahoma receiving votes.
As of games through Feb. 7, eight of the 14 teams have six or fewer losses with every team having played at least 21 games. Oklahoma State and West Virginia are the only teams in the conference that do not currently have a winning record.
Let’s take a look at each Big 12 team and how they fared in games over the last week. This list is sorted alphabetically.
No. 13 Baylor (17-5, 6-3 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Baylor won a Top 25 showdown at home against No. 12 Iowa State 70-68. Baylor led by as many as 15 points at one point before holding off a rally from Iowa State by sealing it with a game winning layup with two seconds left.
This past Tuesday, Baylor won another Top 25 showdown, this time at home against No. 23 Texas Tech 79-73. Baylor led by as many as 15 points with 3:42 left in the game but held off Texas Tech for the win.
Up next for Baylor is a Top 15 matchup on the road against No. 4 Kansas on Saturday, Feb. 10. After that is a home game against Oklahoma on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
No. 21 BYU (16-6, 4-5 Big 12)
Last Saturday, BYU won a road game against West Virginia 86-73. West Virginia kept it close in the first half then BYU ran away with it from there.
This past Tuesday, BYU lost a road game against Oklahoma 82-66. BYU led early in the second half, but Oklahoma ran away with it from there.
Up next for BYU is a home game against Kansas State on Saturday, Feb. 10. After that is a home game against UCF on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
Cincinnati (15-7, 4-5 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Cincinnati won a road game against No. 15 Texas Tech 75-72. The game was tightly contested throughout, and Cincinnati managed to squeak it out at the end.
Cincinnati was off during the weekdays this week and up next is a home game against No. 5 Houston on Saturday, Feb. 10. After that is a home game against Iowa State on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
No. 5 Houston (20-3, 7-3 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Houston lost a Top 10 showdown on the road against No. 8 Kansas 78-65. Houston only led early in the first half as Kansas took care of business on its home court.
This past Tuesday, Houston won a home game against Oklahoma State 79-63. Oklahoma State only led early in the first half as Houston took care of business on its home court.
Up next for Houston is a road game against Cincinnati on Saturday, Feb. 10. After that is a home game against Texas on Saturday, Feb. 17.
No. 14 Iowa State (17-5, 6-3 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Iowa State lost a road game against No. 18 Baylor 70-68. Baylor led by as many as 15 points at one point before holding off a rally from Iowa State by sealing it with a game winning layup with two seconds left.

No. 4 Kansas (18-5, 6-4 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Kansas won a Top 10 showdown at home against No. 4 Houston 78-65. Houston only led early in the first half as Kansas took care of business on its home court.
This past Monday, Kansas lost a Sunflower Showdown on the road against Kansas State 75-70 in overtime. Kansas led by as many as 11 points early in the second half before Kansas State squeaked it out at the end.
Up next for Kansas is a Top 15 showdown at home against No. 13 Baylor on Saturday, Feb. 10. After that is a road game against Texas Tech on Monday, Feb. 12.
Kansas State (15-8, 5-5 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Kansas State lost a road game against Oklahoma State 75-72. Kansas State only led in the first half as Oklahoma State managed to squeak out the win on its home court.
