West Virginia football solidified their running back room for the 2024 season as CJ Donaldson committed to Country Roads Trust, while cornerback Jacolby Spells has also committed to CRT.
Donaldson has been a force in the VWU backfield for the last two seasons. This year, he rushed for 798 yards and 11 touchdowns, and in 2024, he will provide a really. good 1-2 combo with fellow running back Jahiem White. Injuries have been something that has slowed down Donaldson, with him having a season-ending leg injury in 2022, and then he missed this year’s bowl game due to him having surgery.
It was also announced Spells committed to the trust. A sophomore this past season, Spells played in 12 games this season, and had eight total tackles, 0.5 TFL, and a pass deflected.
