The 2024 college baseball season is right around the corner, and with that comes Baseball America’s Preseason NCAA Tournament Projections.
WVU was a two-seed in last year’s tournament, playing in the Lexington Regional, but they finished third in the regional. The Mountaineers are looking to make it to back-to-back NCAA Tournament’s for the first time since the 1960’s, and they will also be in the final year of Randy Mazey and will have one of the best players in college baseball in JJ Wetherholt.
Baseball America has the Mountaineers as a two-seed once again, this time heading to Charlottesville, Virginia, with projected No. 10 Virginia being the host.
WVU kicks off their season on the road for the first seven games, facing Stetson and Charlotte, before hosting Canisus on Feb. 28 in their home opener.
