Martinsburg ATH Murphy Clement has committed to West Virginia as a preferred walk-on, he announced on X Monday.
Clement was West Virginia’s 2023-2024 Gatorade Football Player of the Year for Martinsburg High School.
The 6-foot 190-pound standout put up 1,673 passing yards, 1,128 rushing yards, with 20 rushing touchdowns and 19 passing his senior year, playing quarterback.
On defense, Clement totaled 34 tackles (14 solo), including seven for a loss, with two interceptions, four passes defended, a forced and recovered fumble.
He was ranked as the No. 9 recruit in the state by Prep RedZone.
Clement joins his brother Hudson at WVU, who was also West Virginia’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2021-2022 and also a preferred walk-on, but has since earned a scholarship.
