Former Mountaineer Geno Smith is making his second consecutive Pro Bowl appearance, and on Saturday, he gave a shoutout to his alma mater, West Virginia.
In a video posted to the Big 12’s X account, Smith gave a shoutout to the Mountaineers.
“Here to give a big shoutout to my alma mater, West Virginia. Go Mountaineers! Let’s go, baby,” Smith said.
Smith has been leading the Seattle Seahawks’ offense and after a playoff appearance last season, he helped them get on the doorstep of making the playoffs once again this season. Smith threw for 3,624 yards and 20 touchdowns this season helping the Seahawks to a 9-8 record, barely missing the playoffs.Â
From 2009-2012 at West Virginia, Smith threw for 11,662 yards and 98 touchdowns, with only 21 interceptions, defeating Clemson in the Orange Bowl in 2012.Â
