WVU Wrestling Improves to No. 17 Ranking in Coaches’ Poll

With a current record of 9-3, the West Virginia wrestling team has moved up to No. 17 in the NWCA DI Coaches’ Poll.

This is the highest the Mountaineer wrestling team has been ranked since 2005, when they were No. 16 and the first time being ranked in the teens since being No. 19 in 2016.

WVU is coming off a 40-3 victory over Morgan State on Sunday and has eight wrestlers represented in the latest individual rankings, being listed in the top 33 in their respective weight classes.

They will travel to Iowa this weekend to face No. 4 Iowa State on Friday and No. 18 Northern Iowa on Sunday, before rounding out their dual-meet season by hosting Glenville State on Feb. 18.
