West Virginia football had their 2024 schedule officially released on Tuesday morning.
As they venture into a world with a 16-member Big 12 Conference, they will have seven home games for the first time since 2016. They also host rival Penn State, and then travel to rival Pitt, all within the first three weeks of the season.
The hardest part of the schedule seems to be from mid-September through October. Between Kansas, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Kansas State, and Arizona, WVU is facing a team who appeared in the Big 12 title game, and all of those teams played in a bowl game this past year.
WVU gets two bye weeks this year due to the early start of the 2024 season, and there being 14 weeks to play 12 games. The first bye falls at the end of September after the Mountaineers have played their first five games, and the second bye week is four games later at the start of November.
The Mountaineers face seven opponents from the 2023 schedule, and they went 5-2 against those schools this past season.
