We are now over halfway through the regular season and the Big 12 has been one of the best conferences in women’s college basketball.
In the latest AP Poll, the Big 12 has four teams represented in it: Kansas State at fourth, Texas at 10th, Baylor at 13th, and West Virginia at 24th. The Big 12 also has Iowa State receiving votes.
As of games through Jan. 25, every single team in the conference has a winning record, making them the only such conference in the nation to accomplish this feat.
Let’s take a look at each Big 12 team and how they fared in games over the last week. This list is sorted alphabetically.
No. 13 Baylor (15-3, 4-3 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Baylor won a home game against UCF 77-74. The game was tightly contested throughout, and Baylor managed to squeak out the win.
This past Monday, Baylor lost a Top 25 showdown at home against No. 4 Kansas State 58-55. Baylor led for much of the game before Kansas State rallied in the fourth quarter to win it.
Up next for Baylor is a road game against Oklahoma State on Sunday, Jan. 28. After that is a Top 25 showdown at home against No. 10 Texas on Thursday, Feb. 1.
BYU (12-8, 2-5 Big 12)
Last Saturday, BYU won a home game against Texas Tech 60-46. The 46 points allowed were the second fewest in a game for BYU this season.
BYU was off during the weekdays this week and up next for BYU is a road game against No. 4 Kansas State tomorrow. After that is a road game against Kansas on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
Cincinnati (10-8, 2-5 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Cincinnati lost a home game against West Virginia 72-43. Cincinnati was shutout in the first quarter and West Virginia cruised to an easy victory in this one.
This past Wednesday, Cincinnati won a home game against Oklahoma State 58-56. The game was tightly contested throughout and Cincinnati won it on a layup in the final seconds of the game.
Up next for Cincinnati is a road game against No. 10 Texas tomorrow. After that is a road game against Houston on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
Houston (11-8, 2-6 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Houston lost a home game against Oklahoma 71-65. Houston only led twice in this one as Oklahoma came away with the victory.
This past Wednesday, Houston lost a road game against Texas Tech 66-48. Houston only led in the first quarter as Texas Tech cruised their way to victory.
Up next for Houston is a road game against UCF tomorrow. After that is a home game against Cincinnati on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
Iowa State (12-6, 6-2 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Iowa State was slated to have a home game against TCU, but TCU had to forfeit due to a lack of available players.
This past Wednesday, Iowa State lost a road game against Kansas 60-58. Neither team ever led by more than four points and Kansas managed to squeak it out at the end.
Up next for Iowa State is a road game against No. 24 West Virginia tomorrow. After that is a home game against Oklahoma State on Wednesday, Jan. 31.
Kansas (10-9, 3-5 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Kansas lost a road game against No. 7 Kansas State 69-58. Kansas only led in the first quarter as Kansas State took care of business in the Sunflower Showdown.
This past Wednesday, Kansas won a home game against Iowa State 60-58. Neither team ever led by more than four points and Kansas managed to squeak it out at the end.

No. 4 Kansas State (19-1, 8-0 Big 12)

Oklahoma (12-6, 6-1 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Oklahoma won a road game against Houston 71-65. Houston only led twice in this one as Oklahoma came away with the victory.
This past Wednesday, Oklahoma won a road game against No. 10 Texas 91-87. This was the fifth time this season in which Oklahoma has scored at least 90 points in a game.

Oklahoma State (11-8, 4-4 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Oklahoma State lost a home game against No. 11 Texas 76-66. Oklahoma State only led once as Texas took care of business on the road.

No. 10 Texas (18-3, 5-3 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Texas won a road game against Oklahoma State 76-66. Oklahoma State only led once as Texas took care of business on the road for the program’s 1,200th win.
This past Wednesday, Texas lost a home game against Oklahoma 91-87. The 91 points allowed were the most in a game this season for Texas.

Texas Tech (15-6, 4-4 Big 12)

This past Tuesday, UCF lost a road game against TCU 66-60. UCF trailed by as much as 16 points before a comeback was thwarted by TCU for the victory.

No. 24 West Virginia (16-2, 5-2 Big 12)
Last Saturday, West Virginia won a road game against Cincinnati 72-43. West Virginia pitched a first-quarter shutout and became the first team in Division I history to pitch a shutout in a quarter in consecutive games.
West Virginia was off during the weekdays this week and up next is a home game against Iowa State tomorrow. After that is a home game against UCF on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
