The West Virginia football team is expected to hire Victor Cabral from Appalachian State as their next outside linebackers coach, according to Matt Zenitz of 247sports.
Cabral served as App State’s defensive line coach in 2023, helping coach the Mountaineers DL to 16 sacks.
Cabral was also previously the defensive line coach at his alma mater Georgia Southern from 2018 to 2021 and the recruiting coordinator from 2019-2021.
He spent time coaching at Samford and Georgia Military College as well.
Following his playing career for the Eagles (2000-2004), the Toronto native was the 24th overall draft pick by the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL in 2005.
