WVU’s Jesse Edwards warming up with team ahead of facing No. 3 Kansas

Jesse Edwards is warming up ahead of West Virginia facing No. 3 Kansas on Saturday.

Edwards seems to be dressed, and according to reports, he practiced on Friday, but it’s unlikely he will be available to play on Saturday.

Edwards has been sidelined since Dec. 16 with a fractured right wrist. If the original timeline holds, it would mean he would be back around this target date. However, things have progressed a little slower than planned, as Edwards still had a brace on his wrist as of Wednesday’s game against Oklahoma.

Edwards has played in 10 games, and started all 10 of them for the Mountaineers. He averages 14.8 points per game, and 8.7 rebounds per game this season, shooting 56 percent from the field.

Edwards’ availability was going to be a big storyline, due to Kansas center Hunter Dickinson, and his league leading 11.7 rebounds per game to go along with his 19.3 points per game which is second best in the Big 12, only behind his teammate Kevin McCullar.

Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. between WVU and No. 3 Kansas from the WVU Coliseum.
