BPI, KenPom, and Vegas, Predict West Virginia vs No. 15 Oklahoma

After knocking off No. 25 Texas, West Virginia men’s basketball hits the road again as they head to Norman, Oklahoma, to face the 15th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners.

The computer models and betting odds don’t like the Mountaineers much in this matchup. WVU (6-10, 1-2 Big 12) opened as +13.5, with the total number of points for the game set at 143.

KenPom predicts a sizable loss for WVU. They give the Mountaineers just a nine percent chance of winning the game, and they predict the final score is 78-63 in favor of Oklahoma (13-3, 1-2 Big 12). WVU is currently ranked 136th in KenPom and 178th in the NET Rankings. Oklahoma is ranked 23rd in the NET, and 20th in KenPom.

The Basketball Power Index (BPI) also doesn’t like West Virginia in this game. They give the road team a 6.5 percent chance to come out with the win.

Oklahoma has dominated the series between these two teams as of late. West Virginia is 1-7 in their last eight games against the Sooners, and are winless in their last five games at the Lloyd Noble Center. The Mountaineers are 10-17 all-time against the Sooners.

Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. EST, with the game set to be televised on ESPN+.
