Mountaineers in the NFL: Who made the playoffs?

The 2023-24 NFL playoffs are now underway, and while some former Mountaineers have the opportunity to play in the playoffs, others were on teams that did not qualify. Let’s take a look at who all did or didn’t qualify for the playoffs.

Made the playoffs

Ravens DB Daryl Worley- The Ravens are the top seed in the AFC playoffs though Daryl Worley won’t be featured in them after being placed on season-ending injured reserve prior to Week 18.

49ers OT Colton McKivitz- The 49ers are the top seed in the NFC playoffs, and they await to see who their opponent will be in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Bills CB Rasul Douglas- The Bills are the two seed in the AFC playoffs, and they play host to the Steelers in the Wild Card Round this Sunday. Douglas did not practice this week and is questionable for Sunday’s game.

Browns LB Tony Fields II- The Browns are the five seed in the AFC playoffs and will visit the Texans in the Wild Card Round this Saturday.

Dolphins LB David Long Jr.- The Dolphins are the six seed in the AFC playoffs and will visit the Chiefs in the Wild Card Round this Saturday in a game being exclusively shown on Peacock.

Dolphins OLB Bruce Irvin- Irvin started this season not on an NFL roster before joining the Lions practice squad midseason. He was recently released off their practice squad and signed to the Dolphins active roster with them dealing with injuries at that position.

Did not make the playoffs

Cardinals DL Dante Stills- The Cardinals missed the playoffs for the seventh time in the last eight seasons. Stills started eight games for the team prior to being placed on injured reserve after Week 17.

Cardinals LB Kyzir White- White was a regular starter at linebacker prior to suffering a season-ending injury after 11 games.

Broncos WR David Sills V- The Broncos missed the playoffs for the eighth consecutive season. Sills spent the 2023 season on the Broncos practice squad and has since signed a futures deal with the team.

Chargers QB Will Grier- The Chargers missed out on the playoffs for the fourth time in the last five seasons. Grier bounced around the league this season, starting with the Cowboys in preseason then joining the Bengals, Patriots, and now the Chargers.

Giants OL Yodny Cajuste- The Giants missed the playoffs for the sixth time in the last seven seasons. Cajuste spent some time this season on the Giants practice squad and has since signed a futures deal with the team.

Giants WR Bryce Ford-Wheaton- Ford-Wheaton tore his ACL in preseason and missed the entire 2023 season.

Giants OG Mark Glowinski- Glowinski started a handful of games for the Giants this season.

Seahawks QB Geno Smith- The Seahawks narrowly missed out on the playoffs, losing on a tiebreaker to the Packers for the seven seed in the NFC playoffs.

Titans TE Trevon Wesco- The Titans have now missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season after making it the previous three seasons before that.
