West Virginia men’s basketball interim head coach Josh Eilert spoke about Jesse Edwards’ injury status on Thursday, giving an update on his recovery.
“They’re taking that cast off today,” Eilert said. “They’ll have to do some imaging here in the coming weeks to figure out how well it healed, don’t know anything more than that. Not sure where it’s going to land, so hopefully everything is smooth sailing so we can have him back here in a couple of weeks.”
Edwards sustained a fractured wrist in West Virginia’s loss to UMass on Dec. 16 and was given a four-week recovery timetable.
The Mountaineers’ big man was averaging 14.8 points and 8.7 rebounds a game, before getting injured.
