West Virginia defensive lineman Edward Vesterinen has committed to the Country Roads Trust for the 2024 season, he announced on X.
Vesterinen, originally from Finland, has spent three seasons with the Mountaineers totaling 45 total tackles, seven-and-a-half tackles for loss and four-and-a-half sacks.
Vesterinen was a big piece to West Virginia’s front seven in 2023, playing in all 13 games, with 28 total tackles, four-and-a-half TFL and three sacks this season alone.
With other WVU defensive linemen transferring such as Mike Lockhart and Tomiwa Durojaiye, the Mountaineers will still need to add more depth to the DL, but retain a key contributor in Vesterinen.
