West Virginia defensive back Malachi Ruffin announced on X that he will be declaring for the NFL draft after spending six years with the Mountaineers using up all his eligibility.
Ruffin was originally a walk-on but earned a scholarship in 2021.
Last season the senior from Nashville, North Carolina had two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown against Kansas State.
In his career, Ruffin had 77 total tackles (53 solo) and 12 passes defended to go along with three interceptions.
Ruffin impressed many in the program, progressing from walk-on to a starter. Look for him to participate in West Virginia’s pro day.
