Jordan Titus becomes Big 12 WOTW with historic Midlands performance

West Virginia’s 141-pounder, Jordan Titus, has been named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week following an impressive showing at the 59th Ken Kraft Midlands Championships held at Northwestern.

Titus was the 141-pound champion at Midlands, becoming the first Mountaineer to do so in their respective weight class since Greg Jones in 2003 (184).

Titus, the redshirt sophomore went 5-0 in the tournament to improve his record to 17-0 on the season.

In his finals match, Titus defeated No. 16 CJ Composto of Penn 18-3, scoring a technical fall and winning the title at 141.

Titus was one of four Mountaineer wrestlers to get a spot on the podium, helping West Virginia to a third-place finish, the highest team finish at Midlands in program history.

This is Titus’ second time being named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week in his collegiate career.
