Report: WVU safeties coach Dontae Wright leaving for defensive coordinator role at Troy

West Virginia safeties coach Dontae Wright is leaving for the defensive coordinator position at Troy.

Matt Zenitz of 247Sports first reported the move, as former West Virginia offensive coordinator Gerad Parker was recently named the head coach at Troy earlier this week.

Wright had been at WVU since 2020, previously being the safeties coach at Western Michigan. Wright has helped develop players such as Aubrey Burks while at WVU, and this will be his first defensive coordinator role.
