WVU freshman added one more item to his resume Monday, as he was named the sole running back on the Pro Football Focus College All-Freshman team.
White averaged 8.16 rushing yards in 97 carries this season, leading all NCAA running backs in rushing yards per attempt. He trailed only LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels among all players with 95 carries or more and topped Tennessee junior Jaylen Wright’s 7.39 yard average.
For the season, White ran for a net gain of 792 yards in 11 games. He is committed to WVU for 2024 and is expected to play in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte on Dec. 27.
White was one of four Big 12 freshmen receiving All-Freshman honors, alongside Iowa State tight end Benjamin Brahmer, Oklahoma left guard Cayden Green, and Texas cornerback Malik Muhammad.
White also featured in PFF’s Offensive Freshman Spotlight alongside the team selection. Alabama’s Caleb Downs earned Defensive Freshman Spotlight honors.
