West Virginia tight ends visited former Mountaineer Pat McAfee on Monday.
Stewart visited McAfee in Indianapolis, where McAfee hosts his daily The Pat McAfee Show. McAfee and Stewart go back to McAfee’s playing days at WVU as McAfee played under Stewart’s dad Bill Stewart when he was the head coach at West Virginia.
McAfee called Coach Stewart “a legend” and was quite happy when Blaine was hired by the Mountaineers this offseason.
Stewart was recruiting in Indianapolis today, and posted on social media, “always got to see the guys when I’m recruiting the great city of Indianapolis, Indiana.”
Stewart added he talked about some memories from WVU’s last trip to Charlotte to take on North Carolina in a bowl game. That came in 2008, when WVU beat UNC 31-30 in the then Meineke Car Care Bowl. In the game, McAfee made his lone field goal attempt from 25 yards and made all four of his extra point attempts.
