The newest AP Poll for men’s basketball was released this afternoon and the Big 12 has six in the top 25, including three in the top six.
Kansas (2), Houston (4), Baylor (6), Oklahoma (11), BYU (18), and Texas (19) round out the Big 12 members within the top 25, whilst Iowa State, TCU, and Kansas State are all receiving votes as well.
In the newest NET rankings, West Virginia dropped two spots to 195, the worst amongst teams in the Big 12.
The Big 12 conference is in command of the top of the NET rankings though, with half of the conference (seven teams) ranked within the top 25. Houston leads the conference at No. 2 and BYU is just behind them at No. 3.
Baylor is sixth, Iowa State is eighth, Kansas is 14th, Oklahoma is 15th, and Cincinnati is 25th.
Only two members of the Big 12 are not ranked in the top 100, with Oklahoma State at 136th and West Virginia at 195th.
West Virginia has chances to improve their spot in the rankings as they will square up against UMass (93rd) on Saturday and Ohio State (34) on Dec. 30th to close out the non-conference schedule.
