James Heard Jr., a freshman linebacker for West Virginia has entered the transfer portal.
Heard, originally from Camden, New Jersey saw very limited playing time for the Mountaineers only seeing action in three games.
He was named to NJ.com’s 2022 All-State First team in high school and held offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Kentucky, Maryland, Miami, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Penn State, Rutgers, Temple, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Rivals first reported the news, Heard becomes the second defensive player to enter the portal from West Virginia in the last 24 hours.
