West Virginia running back Jahiem White, who rushed for 792 yards this season, leading all freshmen has been named a Freshman All-American.
White was heavily utilized by the Mountaineers in the final stretch of the season after seeing limited opportunities in the beginning.
If he was eligible for the list, White’s 8.2 yards per rush would rank second in the nation only behind LSU’s quarterback and Heisman candidate Jayden Daniels.
White also shows great potential in the passing game, after turning two of his three catches into explosive touchdowns; He had three rushing touchdowns.
With three more years of eligibility, WVU hopes to retain White and allow him to continue to develop.
