West Virginia hosts Pitt in the Backyard Brawl on Wednesday night. The Mountaineers and Panthers both have up and down throughout the first month of the season, as both teams look to get a rivalry game.
The game is set to tip-off at 9 p.m. and it will be televised on ESPN2.
WVU is ranked 109th in KenPom, while Pitt is ranked 59th. The Mountaineers are 209th in the NET, while Pitt is 56th. This means this is a Quad 2 game for the Mountaineers and a Quad 3 game for the Panthers.
The betting lines currently favor WVU as they are a four-point underdog against the Panthers. The total number of points is set at 138.
West Virginia has won six straight in the Backyard Brawl, and are 64-30 all-time against the Panthers at home.
Pitt is 5-3 on the season, with all five of their wins coming against Quad 4 competition. They are 0-2 in Quad 1 games and 0-1 in Quad 3 games. WVU is 3-4 on the season with them going 0-1 in Quad 1 games and Quad 2 games, 1-2 in Quad 3 games, and 2-0 in Quad 4 games.
The Mountaineers are coming off a 79-73 loss to St. John’s, while the Panthers have lost their last two games to Clemson and Missouri, by an average of eight points.
