Akok Akok cleared to return to play for West Virginia

West Virginia’s Akok Akok is making his season debut on Wednesday night against Pitt.

In a release from WVU, they said Akok has been cleared to play after he suffered a medical condition against George Mason on Oct. 27.

“Since then, Akok has undergone extensive evaluation of this condition and met with multiple physicians. After several expert opinions, he has been able to return to play in games.”

Akok is a transfer from Georgetown and will be seeing his first game action of the season against the Panthers, as his injury was sustained in WVU’s final exhibition game.
