Clint Trickett, who was forced to retire from football while at West Virginia, has been fired after serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
The Herd went 3-5 this season and had a total offense ranked 87th among 130 FBS teams, averaging 357.8 yards a game.
Trickett was in his second year in both roles after joining the Marshall coaching staff in 2021.
Trickett was also the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Florida Atlantic in 2020 before going to Marshall.
At WVU, Trickett played one season transferring from Florida State. He threw for just under 3,000 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions helping the Mountaineers to a 6-5 record.
Trickett would announce his retirement from the game of football later that year after suffering five concussions in 14 months.
