No. 5 West Virginia men’s soccer hosts Vermont, with the winner advancing the the NCAA Quarterfinals.
The Mountaineers host the Catamounts with the winner advancing to the round of eight. WVU beat Louisville in the second round, 1-0, while Vermont upset No. 12 UCF, 3-2 in overtime.
Vermont is 13-5-2 and beat Rider in the first round before upsetting the Knights. West Virginia has only played one game in the last two weeks — their win over Louisville. The Mountaineers are unbeaten at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown, W.Va., and if they win they will make their second NCAA Quarterfinal appearance in the last three seasons.
Kickoff is set for Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m., and the game will be televised on ESPN+. The winner will face the winner of LMU (CA) and James Madison next weekend.
