West Virginia is set to face No. 24 Virginia on Wednesday night and their depth will still be an issue.
After RaeQuan Battle’s waiver appeal was denied on Tuesday, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported Wednesday morning that Akok Akok remains out.
Akok collapsed on the floor on Oct. 27, which is 26 days ago to Wednesday. Akok has still been with the team during this process. While Akok’s status is not much of a surprise, the Mountaineers are still in a bind.
WVU had seven available players to play on Monday against SMU, as Jeremiah Bembry was out. The issues with the lack of depth for the Mountaineers were obvious as they held an 11-point halftime lead before losing by 12.
Tip-off between the Mountaineers and Cavaliers is set for 6:00 p.m., with the game being televised on FS1.
