Cincinnati vs West Virginia Predictions

West Virginia hosts Cincinnati in their home finale. The Mountaineers are looking to

Ashley O’Brien: It’s the home finale for the Mountaineers, as they look to send their seniors off with a win. The Mountaineers suffered an ugly loss last week to the Sooners, but there is no reason this team can’t turn things around against a somewhat struggling Bearcats squad. I think the offense turns it around in a big way and they beat Cincinnati by two touchdowns.

Wesley Shoemaker: Here it is for West Virginia, their home finale. Time flies, doesn’t it. Last week was bad, plain and simple. I think West Virginia should turn it around and it starts with Garrett Greene. Greene struggled last week against the Sooners, but to me, that’s the outlier. This offense was clicking on all cylinders weeks prior and they can start clicking again. It should be a special day with Don Nehlen being immortalized and West Virginia ends their home schedule with a win.

Aaron Parker: WVU got a bit of a reality check last Saturday in Norman, falling to Oklahoma 59-20. It’s senior day for West Virginia and I think Neal Brown will have his team ready to play. While CJ Donaldson is listed as questionable and that is a big deal, I think the play of quarterback Garrett Greene will be the deciding factor. Greene did not quite have it last week and I think a response is crucial for the Mountaineers if they want yo take care of business against a Cincinnati team that just defeated Houston last week. I think Greene will come back and play better, but I see a couple of turnovers plaguing the Mountaineers. Despite the potential sloppiness, I see WVU pulling out the win at home by one score.

West Virginia 28, Cincinnati 21

Patrick Reneau: West Virginia matches up against a Cincinnati team that has not looked great on the year. For West Virginia it is the last home game of the season and i expect them to end the home year on a good note.

West Virginia 42, Cincinnati 14

Ryan Roddy: After looking completely lost last week in Norman, I think the Mountaineers take care of business at home on senior day. Cincinnati is coming off a well-deserved win against Houston last week but could have trouble replicating that same success against a WVU team needing to prove even more in this rollercoaster season. I think West Virginia handles the Bearcats similarly to that of the BYU game.

West Virginia 31, Cincinnati 10

Korey Moore: The Bearcats got their statement win of sorts last weekend against Houston, and now, despite being in very different circumstances, it’s time for WVU’s. The wide-margin loss to Oklahoma came due in part to readjusting to players returning from injury and Garrett Greene’s difficulty adapting to the Sooners defense. Neither of those factors are at play against the Bearcats, who score just over 19 points and allow 29 on average in conference games. The team has decent offensive production, but it doesn’t convert to scoring as much as it should. With WVU’s offensive abilities likely heightened this weekend at home with something to prove, Cincinnati’s defensive woes don’t play in their favor either, and I expect a bit of a blowout win for the Mountaineers.

West Virginia 41, Cincinnati 13

Mark Wratchford: West Virginia has one last home game this season against a former rival from their days in the Big East in Cincinnati. These two teams are ones that have had opposite seasons. West Virginia has already clinched bowl eligibility, while Cincinnati is essentially eliminated unless they can get to 5-7 and get in with not enough 6 win teams available. The Bearcats may have not thrown in the towel either, as they went to Houston last week and won 24-14. West Virginia will look to bounce back after getting throttled by Oklahoma last week 59-20. And I think they will do just that. They probably won’t blowout Cincinnati but they should get the W.

West Virginia 24, Cincinnati 21

Bryce Cohen: For the first time since 2011, West Virginia will play Cincinnati in their final home game of the season. The Bearcats are fresh off a 24-14 victory over Houston to secure their first win against a Big 12 opponent. Both West Virginia and Cincinnati rely heavily on the ground game, which will result in this game being won (or lost) on the line. West Virginia has shown that their offensive line is one of the best in the Big 12 and I believe that won’t stop against Cincinnati. This match-up won’t be pretty but I believe the Mountaineers get it done on senior night.
