Former Mountaineer Bruce Irvin is getting another shot in the NFL, as he signed with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday.
Irvin will start on the practice squad, according to Tom Pelissero, who was told of the news from Irvin’s agent. Irvin last played in 2022 with the Seattle Seahawks, playing in 11 games, starting 10 of them and recording 3.5 sacks to go with 28 total tackles.
Irvin was recently inducted into the WVU Sports Hall of Fame this past August and the Lions are 7-2 and currently sit atop the NFC North.
