Live Game Thread: West Virginia vs Oklahoma

Tonight is West Virginia vs Oklahoma as both teams look to stay alive in the Big 12 Championship race.

West Virginia won last year’s meeting 23-20 and that is the only win for the Mountaineers over the Sooners since West Virginia joined the Big 12. Kickoff is set for 7:10 p.m. EST and the game will be televised on FOX.

West Virginia is looking for their third consecutive win, while the Sooners have lost their last two, with both losses coming on the road.

Final: West Virginia 20, Oklahoma 59

Fourth Quarter

1:05 — Marchiol’s pass intended for Rodney Gallagher is intercepted.

4:48 — Davis Beville is playing quarterback for the Sooners. Gabriel’s day appears to be over with five passing and three rushing touchdowns.

7:59 — Nicco Marchiol is in at quarterback for West Virginia.

7:59 — Gabriel scores his eighth all-purpose touchdown with a 5-yard rush up the middle. Oklahoma tacks on to their already massive lead and now has 640 total yards of offense in the game.

12:58 — Doug Nester is slow to get up for the Mountaineers. Nester was a game-time decision prior to the contest, Nick Malone takes over at right tackle.

13:46 — Stoops catches his third touchdown. A brawl ensues in what was an erratic sequence of events.

4:34 — Stoops records his second receiving touchdown of the night as the Sooners start to completely pull away.

9:28 — Devin Carter catches a 7-yard touchdown pass from Greene. West Virginia attempted a two-point conversion but was unsuccessful.

10:51 — Donaldson injured after a one-yard carry. He previously rushed for 32 yards on the drive and suffered a season-ending leg injury last season.

13:48 — Gabriel connects with Drake Stoops for a 60-yard touchdown. Oklahoma immediately scores following halftime.

Second Quarter

0:07 — Greene fires a seed to Kole Taylor for a touchdown. The Mountaineers add much-needed points before heading to the locker room.

6:20 — Gabriel connects with Jayden Gibson for a 32-yard touchdown. The West Virginia defense continues to struggle in the first half.

9:06 — Oklahoma capitalizes on the Mountaineers’ turnover on downs as Gabriel hits Austin Stogner on the three-yard touchdown reception. The Sooners have scored on every one of their possessions thus far.

10:55 — The Sooners are successful on fourth and five as they near the red zone, looking to build their lead.

12:03 —West Virginia is unsuccessful on fourth and two around midfield as the offense continues to struggle after scoring on their first drive.

13:54 — Oklahoma is unable to find the endzone after a drive highlighted by a 63-yard Nic Anderson reception. Zach Schmit’s 23-yard attempt is good.

2:29 — Jared Bartlett recovers the ball after a muffed punt return for Oklahoma on the Sooners 33-yard line.

3:16 — Gabriel gets his second rushing touchdown early as Oklahoma continues to move the ball effectively to begin the game.
