West Virginia head coach Neal Brown gave injury updates requiring three players on his team.
Hudson Clement and Michael Hayes were injured in WVU’s loss to Oklahoma State, while Tomas Rimac had missed the last two games after he was injured against TCU.
Brown said he expects to get Hayes and Rimac back this week against UCF. Brown added Hayes had a cramp when he tried to get up of the turf after he was roughed on an extra point. Rimac will play this week but Brown is unsure if he will start or not.
“Michael Hayes is fine. He had that and it ended up being a cramp when he tried to get up,” Brown said. “Tomas he’s going to be available. Whether he starts or not, he’s going to be available.”
Rimac will help sure up the left side of the offensive line, as the Mountaineers have had to move pieces around to fit in at the left guard position this past week.
As for Clement, he got hurt on the first WVU touchdown of the game in the second quarter. He limped to the locker room before returning in street clothes and a walking boot on his right foot against Oklahoma State.
Brown said Clement is listed as doubtful this week, but that he still has room for improvement.
“Hudson, too early. He got rolled up there on our touchdown,” Brown said. “I would say doubtful unless he makes some good improvement… I think it depends on what it looks like tomorrow.”
