Oklahoma State vs West Virginia

The Mountaineers look to rebound from a loss against Houston last Thursday, while the Cowboys look to extend their winning streak to three games on Saturday afternoon at Milan Puskar Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN.

Fourth Quarter

9:39 — Justin Johnson with a 30-yard run to ignite the Mountaineers, while Preston Fox had another impressive catch, this time for 26 yards. Michael Hayes caps things off with a 29-yard field goal.

13:16 — Gordon rushes for a 16-yard score as Oklahoma State takes advantage of a muffed punt of their own.

END THIRD: West Virginia 24, Oklahoma State 20

Third Quarter

1:30 — Garrett Greene finds EJ Horton on the backside of the Oklahoma State defense, connecting on a 32-yard touchdown pass with Horton as WVU retakes the lead.

4:52 — After the offense’s inability to move the ball, the Cowboys finally make the Mountaineers pay. Oklahoma State is fueled by a 27-yard rush from Gordon, and ends it with a 5-yard pass from Bowman to Bray.

7:16 — West Virginia’s Anthony Wilson gets an interception at the WVU three yard line. For the second drive in a row though, WVU’s offense goes three and out from inside their own 10.

HALFTIME: West Virginia 17, Oklahoma. State 13

Second Quarter

00:13 — Alex Hale misses a 31-yard field goal after the Cowboys traveled 59 yards on the drive. Hale kicked it from the right hash and missed it right as WVU heads into half with a 17-13 lead.

2:37 — On third down, Garrett Greene is able to find Devin Carter for a 45-yard touchdown as Carter got behind the Cowboy defense and Greene found him on a really good throw.

WVU 17, OSU 13

5:06 — Alan Bowman with a couple really good throws on the drive including a big one to Jaden Bray up the left sideline for 29 yards. WVU’s defense doesn’t break in the red zone again, holding the Cowboys to a field goal.

8:49 — West Virginia ties things up after a 34-yard kick from Michael Hayes. The Mountaineers had third and seven, but Devin Carter was stopped in the open field and couldn’t make his man miss. WVU blocked the punt after a three and out from the defense, giving them the ball at their own 41.

14:53 — The Mountaineers are able to punch it in on a 3-yard touchdown from Justin Johnson. A great catch from Preston Fox for 19 yards on third down put WVU inside the five, before Johnson punched it in.

END FIRST: Oklahoma State 10, West Virginia 0

First Quarter

7:19 — Two turnovers have now led to Cowboy points. The Cowboys go down the field and score on a 2-yard rush from Ollie Gordon. 10 points off of turnovers and we are just over halfway into things.

9:05 — Oklahoma State’s Korie Black picks off Garrett Greene and returns it to the WVU 39 yard line.

11:00 — Oklahoma State gets on the board first with a 37-yard field goal from Alex Hale. Ollie Gordon went down the field on a 32-yard rush on third down, setting the Cowboys up.

OSU 3, WVU 0

13:43 — Just two plays after WVU gets a fumble recovery, Kole Taylor gets the ball stripped and Oklahoma State’s Kendal Daniels recovers. Oklahoma State takes over at their own 29.

13:53 — The Mountaineers go a quick three and out on their first possession of the day, with CJ Donaldson rushing twice and then an incompletion on third down. On the punt Brennan Presley of OSU muffs the punt and Hudson Clement recovers it at the Cowboy 33 yard line. he recovery is WVU’s first fumble recovery of the season for the Mountaineers.

Oklahoma State wins the toss and they defer to the second half. The Mountaineers will start on offense
