The Big 12 is discussing increasing the number of conference games to 20 according to Jon Rothstein.
The change would not take place until the 2024-25 season.
Currently the conference only plays 18 conference games in a season, but this is the first season where teams will not play everyone twice after the additions of BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF.
Beginning in the 2024-25 season the Big 12 will be adding Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah following the departures of Texas and Oklahoma.
