West Virginia basketball is planning to welcome multiple recruits over the next couple of weeks, as the Mountaineers look beyond 2023-2024.
On Sept. 23, the weekend WVU hosts Texas Tech in football, the Mountaineers are welcoming three recruits for visits. Joe Tipton of On3Sports says sources tell him WVU is expecting Carmelo Adkins, Jinup Dobuol, and Gob Gob. The Mountaineers are also expected to host Naas Cunningham and Chance Mallory for a visit this weekend when WVU football takes on Pitt in the Backyard Brawl, according to Travis Branham.
Carmelo Adkins
Adkins is a combo guard in the 2024 class, and is listed at 6-foot-5, and is also receiving recruiting interest from Washington. Adkins reclassified from the 2023 class to the 2024 class.
Jinup Dobuol
Dobuol is a 6-foot-8 wing who goes to Phoenix Prep. Dobuol has received interest from other DI programs across the country and is a three-star prospect.
Gob Gob
Gob is a 2024 JUCO transfer who has played at Hill College and is a 6-foot-3 point guard.
Naas Cunningham
Cunningham is a four-star recruit in the 2024 class, who received an offer from WVU on Sept. 9. He is a 6-foot-8 wing and is from California.
Mallory
Mallory is the youngest of the group, being a 2025 four-star recruit. He is from Virginia and has offers from Maryland and Virginia. His visit will be an unofficial visit on Sept. 16.
