Devin Carter talks about performance in his first game for the Mountaineers

Devin Carter, a redshirt-senior receiver, spent the first four years of his collegiate career playing for North Carolina State before transferring to WVU in January of this year.

The Mountaineers week one matchup against Penn State was Carter’s first time suiting up for the Mountaineers.

“I feel like the offense did rather well in my view,” said Carter. “There were just a couple plays that we needed to make and when it was crunch time we didn’t make them so the game ended up going the way it went instead of the way we wanted it to.”

Carter in his first game for the Mountaineers finished with six receptions for 90 yards, both leading the team.

“I feel like I did pretty good myself, but there was definitely more out there, I feel like I had more left in me.”

The Mountaineers next game is against Duquesne and Carter has no intentions of treating them differently.

“They’re not a bad team so we can’t take them lightly. We have to put our foot on the gas and just go.”
