The Mountaineer men’s soccer team played host to Bucknell tonight for their second game of the season.
The Mountaineers controlled the first half, outshooting the Bisons 6-1. Marcus Caldeira came to close to netting one for the Mountaineers in the 38th minute but the ball bounced off the crossbar
The Mountaineers entered halftime in a scoreless draw with Bucknell.
Following the halftime break, West Virginia picked up right where they left off in controlling the game.
In the 53rd minute, Frederik Jorgensen played a ball across the front of the net that found the foot of Marcus Caldeira who put the ball in the back of the net to give the Mountaineers a 1-0 lead.
Bucknell were able to get one more shot off in the second half, but that one was not able to find the target going just wide of the right post.
In the 73rd minute, Thomas Decottignies crossed a ball into the middle of the box that found the head of a diving Yutaro Tsukada to increase the Mountaineers lead to 2-0 which would prove to be the final score.
The Mountaineers will travel to Yale for their next contest this Friday with kick off set for 7:00.
