Former Mountaineer TJ Simmons joined the Houston Football coaching staff as a graduate assistant.
In his Instagram bio, it reads, “WR GA at The University of Houston.”
Simmons came to WVU from Alabama in 2017, redshirting before joining the team in 2018. Simmons played for the Mountaineers between 2018-2020, compiling 86 catches for 1,197 yards, and nine touchdowns in his career.
Simmons is joining former WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen at Houston, as he was under him for two years at WVU.
Simmons will be working under another former Mountaineer in Daikel Shorts Jr., who is Houston’s wide receivers coach.
