Braden Barry was named as the Big 12 Conference’s Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the year this morning.
Barry, a finance major with a 3.73 GPA, was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection and a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection. He participated in every game this past season, finishing the year batting .290 with eight home runs and 44 runs batted in. Barry’s play was rewarded as he was selected in the eighth round of the 2023 MLB draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.
