West Virginia’s roster is facing more uncertainty following the denial of a waiver for Omar Silverio.
Silverio who last played collegiate basketball in 2021-2022 at Hofstra had his waiver denied and his collegiate career is therefore over.
This leaves the Mountaineers with two open scholarship spots, as before yesterday’s news they only had one open spot.
G- RaeQuan Battle, Jeremiah Bembry, Kobe Johnson, Kerr Kriisa, Jose Perez, Seth Wilson
F- Jesse Edwards, Josiah Harris, Ofri Naveh, Quinn Slazinski, Patrick Suemnick
Experience wise, WVU is still very guard heavy and might not even look to replace a Silverio type of role in the transfer portal. There is not a lot of experience in the frontcourt, and depth there seems vital.
Between Battle, Kriisa, and Perez, there is a lot of minutes and a lot of talent at the guard spots.
