Former Mountaineer and fan favorite Tavon Austin has been added to the Houston Roughnecks roster of the XFL.
Austin was selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the then St. Louis Rams and went on to play nine NFL seasons. He was most recently with the Buffalo Bills in 2022 on their practice squad.
Austin had 3,600 scrimmage yards and 29 total touchdowns during his time in the NFL.
He will look to add value to a Roughnecks team that finished the 2023 season at 7-3 and first place in the South Division.
