EA Sports has been revealing the overall ratings for the players in Madden 24 over this past week. Let’s take a look at the ratings of the West Virginia Mountaineers in the NFL.
Quarterback Geno Smith and cornerback Rasul Douglas tied for the highest rating among former Mountaineers each at 81 overall.
Smith had a career year last season with the Seahawks, which ended with taking home Comeback Player of the Year honors. His highest individual major attribute is an 89 for throw accuracy deep, which ranks in the top five among quarterbacks this year.
Douglas has been with the Packers since midway through the 2021 season and either set or tied a couple of career highs last season. His highest individual major attribute is a 92 for acceleration.
The other former Mountaineer quarterback in the NFL, Will Grier of the Cowboys, was rated a 55 overall. He has primarily been a third stringer with the Cowboys and his highest individual major attribute is an 86 for throw power.
Two out of the three former Mountaineer wide receivers currently in the NFL are in the Madden 24 database. Gary Jennings of the Panthers has a 67 overall and David Sills of the Giants has a 66 overall rating.
Jennings was teammates with Sills at West Virginia and both entered the NFL in 2019. After a stint in the XFL earlier this year, Jennings signed with the Panthers to compete for a roster spot. His highest individual attribute is his 91 speed.
Sills has been with the Giants since 2019 and saw plenty of action in his fourth season with the team. His highest individual attribute is a 90 for acceleration.
West Virginia’s lone tight end in the NFL, Trevon Wesco of the Titans, has a 65 overall rating. He signed with the team this offseason and his highest individual major attribute is a 79 for acceleration.
Of the three offensive linemen in the Madden 24 database, Mark Glowinski of the Giants has the highest overall rating at 74. Glowinski has started 90 games in his NFL career and his highest individual major attribute is an 88 for strength.
Colton McKivitz of the 49ers has a 64 overall. He is set to become a regular starter in his fourth season with the team and his highest individual major attribute is an 83 for strength.
Yodny Cajuste of the Jets has a 63 overall. He signed with the Jets earlier this offseason after four seasons with the Patriots and his highest individual attribute is an 88 for strength.
The lone Mountaineer defensive lineman on an NFL roster, rookie Dante Stills of the Cardinals, has a 64 overall rating. He was drafted by the team in the sixth round this year and his highest individual major attribute is an 83 for acceleration.
Of the three linebackers in the Madden 24 database, David Long Jr. of the Dolphins has the highest overall rating at 78. He signed with the Dolphins this offseason after four seasons with the Titans and his highest individual attribute is a 90 for pursuit.
Kyzir White of the Cardinals has a 75 overall. He signed with the team this offseason after stints with the Chargers and Eagles and his highest individual attribute is an 89 for acceleration.
Tony Fields II of the Browns has a 67 overall. He is entering his third season with the team and his highest individual attribute is a 91 for acceleration.
There are two Mountaineer cornerbacks currently on an NFL roster, the aforementioned Rasul Douglas and Daryl Worley of the Ravens. Worley has a 70 overall and his highest individual attribute is an 89 for acceleration.
The lone safety currently on an NFL roster, Kenny Robinson of the Steelers, has a 66 overall rating. He signed with the team this offseason after a stint with the Panthers and his highest individual attribute, like many of the others listed above, is acceleration at 90.
Madden NFL 24 is set to be released to the public on August 18, with the deluxe edition being released three days earlier.
