Former WVU guard Erik Stevenson will be lacing ’em up another time in the gold and blue, this time for West Virginia’s TBT team known as “Best Virginia.”
Stevenson will be joining the likes of former Mountaineers such as John Flowers, Kevin Jones, Kedrian Johnson, Sean McNeil, Teyvon Meyers, and others.
In one season in Morgantown, Stevenson averaged 15.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in a season where the Mountaineers reached the NCAA Tournament.
Stevenson shot 43 percent from the field in his fifth year in college and had 30-point games against Auburn and Oklahoma at the WVU Coliseum. Stevenson also averaged 24.6 points per game in a stretch from mid-February until early March that helped boost the Mountaineers’ NCAA Tournament hopes.
Best Virginia will be the No. 1 seed in the Wheeling, West Virginia regional of the TBT Tournament, with the likes of Herd That and Zoo Crew as potential second-round opponents. Herd That represents the alumni of Marshall University and Zoo Crew represents the alumni of Pitt, but Best Virginia will have to get past Dubois Dream before they gear up to face a potential rival.
The TBT Tournament will take place at Wesbanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia from July 25 – July 29.
