On Saturday, former West Virginia Mountaineer Victor Scott II became the first player in program history to go on to play in the MLB Futures Game.
He made two at-bat appearances, going 1-for-2 with a single to center field and stealing two bases afterwards.
Scott played three seasons at West Virginia from 2020-2022, appearing in 121 games with a .254 batting average to go along with 11 home runs and 75 RBIs.
He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fifth round of the 2022 MLB Draft. He is currently in their Minor League system where he recently got the promotion from High-A Peoria to Double-A Springfield after a standout performance at Peoria.
Victor Scott is currently ranked 25th among prospects in the Cardinals system by MLB.com.
