Kedrian Johnson signs professional contract

Former Mountaineer Kedrian Johnson is headed across the pond to compete in the British Basketball League.

Johnson announced on Wednesday he is signing with the Bristol Flyers. Johnson spent the last three seasons at West Virginia after playing junior college prior to becoming a Mountaineer. Johnson scored 27 points in his final collegiate game in the NCAA Tournament against Maryland.

“It means the world – I’ve worked my whole life to play professional basketball, so it means a lot to be able to accept this opportunity,” Johnson said. “I’m excited to move to a new country and experience something that I haven’t experienced before.”

Johnson is still listed on Best Virginia’s roster for their TBT tournament appearance later this month.

“Coach wants me to come in and be a scorer and a playmaker on the team. I’m a big team player and I like to lead by example – I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done,” Johnson said. “My message to the Flyers fans is to get excited because there’s a lot be excited about this season.”
