Former WVU Head Men’s Basketball Coach Bob Huggins has released a statement after sending a letter to WVU demanding that he be reinstated or he will sue.
Huggins’ attorney wrote a letter to WVU that states: “Coach Huggins never signed a resignation letter and never communicated a resignation to anyone at WVU. Accordingly, the WVU public comments are not only false, but appear to be an after-the-fact attempt to remedy WVU’s breach of the Employment.”
The letter continues to read that since Huggins’ Employment Agreement says that a resignation must be signed, and no copy of a signed resignation letter exists, Huggins is still legally the head coach of the program and should be able to resume active coaching duties.
WVU has disputed this, as their general legal council has said they are “confused by the allegations” in the original letter.
On Monday, Bob Huggins released a statement, saying that he never resigned from his position as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach for WVU.
