7/3 — West Virginia Men’s Basketball Roster Update

West Virginia men’s basketball is still trying to nail down their roster with the transfer portal still being active for current players.

The Mountaineers are set to make a trip to Italy at the end of the month and into August, and then will begin the fall semester soon after getting back.

Rostered

West Virginia has gotten a couple of key announcements this week as far as players announcing their intentions to stay. RaeQuan Battle, Josiah Harris, and Jesse Edwards, all put out on social media that they are remaining Mountaineers. Since last week, no new Mountaineer has entered the portal, but the 30-day window still means they can enter.

In Portal

The trio of James Okonkwo, Joe Toussaint, and Mohamed Wague, are all still in the portal. All three have also gotten considerable looks from high major schools.

Toussaint and Wague both took visits to Kansas State this week. As of Monday, Wague was on his way to visit Alabama, and he had already visited DePaul as well. Toussaint also visited Alabama, along with Texas Tech and reportedly talked to Gonzaga and Miami as well. Okonkwo will be taking visits to North Carolina and Texas A&M later this month.

Transferred

Tre Mitchell is the only Mountaineer who has transferred elsewhere. Last Monday he made it official that he was going to Kentucky.
