Former Mountaineer Victor Scott II has been selected to represent the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2023 All-Star Futures Game. Scott will be playing with the top prospects from the National League in a game against the top prospects from the American League.
Scott has spent all of the 2023 season with the Cardinals High-A affiliate, the Peoria Chiefs. In 66 games this season, Scott is batting .282 with two home runs, nine doubles, and 29 runs batted in. Scott also has a Minor League best 50 stolen bases to go along with his success at the plate.
Scott’s level of play as of late has been enough for the organization as they announced today that Scott has been promoted to the Cardinals AA affiliate, the Springfield Cardinals.
The All-Star Futures Games takes place on Saturday, July 8th at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.
