According to Adam Zagoria, West Virginia University officials met with two assistant coaches in Josh Eilert and Ron Everhart on Thursday.
According to Zagoria, the purpose of this meeting was “a fact-finding call.”
Both Eilert and Everhart have had their names thrown around as possible replacements for Bob Huggins this week in at least an interim role. Everhart has the clear edge on head coaching experience, but Eilert has been on Huggins’ staff since his days at Kansas State.
Tre Mitchell is the first Mountaineer to reportedly enter the transfer portal since Huggins’ departure, but it could be the first domino to fall of many depending on who West Virginia brings in as their next head coach as well as when that decision is made.
